3 stars is generous, but worthy due to its location- bang in the middle of the city . The rooms are very dated and in need of renovation. The restaurant and bar was at best average, the linen and towels were cheap and nasty. I am overall surprised at this hotels 4 -star status. We spent 2 nights and if we return to Zagreb, we will not be rushing back to this hotel.

We stayed at this hotel for a long weekend with friends for convention we were so surprised and impressed by the large rooms the great choice of breakfast the friendly staff and the cleanliness in the hotel , it’s great location in the centre of Zagreb great value for money

Great location, breakfast OK. Room was fine. But sad to say that the biggest impression I am left with is how unfriendly the restaurant and front desk staff are. Don't bother approaching them with a smile because you won't get one back. I pointed out that someone left their jacket behind at breakfast and the staff member just looked at me...I suggested she take it to lost and found before it got stolen and she just shrugged and walked away. Front desk staff are not welcoming at all.

Hotel with a great location and terrific front desk staff. Our room was big and comfortable for two people. We had three issues with our recent stay. One, some air freshener or cleaning supply is overly used and leaves the hallway smelling so heavy of floral perfume that I gagged every time I left my room. I hope they can get that fixed. Second, the heat was not adjustable. As a result, we were forced to leave our windows open pretty much the whole time we were there because the room was so hot. To be fair, this was the same in a couple of other hotels we stayed at and I believe has something to do with the eu's regulations. Finally, the breakfast staff appeared to be overwhelmed as we frequently ran into things that were empty and took some time to refill, I.e juice glasses and croissants. With all of that, we would certainly stay here again. We hope they can get these kinks worked out before our next stay.

I recently requested the PA book a trip to Dubrovnik to test out my new 15 piece matching set of Rimowa luggage (the Louis Vuitton set is due for retirement). Much to my surprise we ended up in Zagreb. It turned out the PA had got confused and had assumed (wrongly) that I wanted to stay at “Hotel Dubrovnik” rather than go to the actual city. The first issue we encountered was trying to pull up outside the hotel, the hire car (luxury German) had difficulty negotiating the pedestrianised street; I made sure the PA firmly placed his hand on the horn. Upon arrival I was greatly embarrassed as the PA’s payment cards kept being declined (they didn’t accept Amex centurion), I did offer the PA’s services as staff for the night but eventually a card was found that worked. The next disappointment came when I entered the room, the room next was full of dogs and I was given the fright when they began barking excessively (I assumed it was the PA’s aftershave). During the night I received quite the fright when the PA’s bed began barking, I had assumed the vicious neighbours had somehow got in, this wasn’t helped by the fact that the PA was nonstop going to the water closet during the eventide hours (he’d got befuddled on the flight). The following morning we went down to the refectory for our early meal, this was rather disappointing as the PA had managed to break the orange juice dispenser meaning I was unable to get my daily vitamin c intake, this made me want to smash the PA’s face in. I am unlikely to request to stay here again and would much prefer to be taken to Dubrovnik as initially specified.
